Invitation from the Stewardship Committee
Dear Parishioners:
As members of St. Katharine of Siena parish, we are part of a dynamic faith community with many opportunities to put our faith into action and an awareness of the many times Scripture calls on us to do so. Some of those scriptural references are quoted throughout this stewardship report.
Our vision is to make stewardship a way of life at St. Katharine's. The process of becoming a stewardship parish is a journey of education and understanding that giving of ourselves will help strengthen our faith and our obedience to God's word.
All of us have gifts, and we are called upon to be good stewards of the gifts we have received from God. The Stewardship Committee provides direction and education to the parish on how all parishioners can offer a portion of their time, talent and treasure. You can help by reflecting prayerfully on how you can support God's work at St. Katharine's.
Often times, people think of stewardship simply as giving money. Indeed, the treasure aspect does call on us to provide financial support for the work and maintenance of the parish and the church at large. Giving more generously is a personal decision that comes from prayer, between you and God.
But as the saying goes, money isn't everything. This stewardship report lists the organizations and groups to which we can contribute our time and talent. Of vital importance in living and spreading God's word, time and talent point to engagement in parish programs and ministries, as well as attention to other forms of service and outreach in our community.
Stewardship can be seen as faith in action. When a parishioner sings in the Sunday choir, it is faith in action; when a Religious Education Program teacher gives an hour a week to explain the meaning of Easter, it is faith in action; when an offering is placed into the collection basket, it is faith in action.
We invite you to put your faith in action.
