Sacrament of Matrimony

Marriage Symbol Couples planning to marry in St. Katharine of Siena Church should notify the Pastor as early as possible, and no less than six months prior to the desired wedding date so that appropriate assistance in marriage preparation may be provided. At the initial interview, the date and the time requested will be confirmed, and the appropriate information and guidelines provided.

Pre-Cana Program:

Each couple is required to attend a Pre-Cana Program of Marriage and Family Life Preparation Day in the spring or in the fall (check the Calendar under Pre Cana for dates). The program is presented by married couples from the parish who reflect on their experience regarding the various aspects of the marital commitment.

Participation in this parish program satisfies the diocesan requirement for Pre-Cana instruction.

As an alternative, the Archdiocese conducts regional programs which meet once a week for four consecutive weeks.

Another option is an 'Engagement Encounter' weekend.

Wedding Schedule:

Weddings are normally scheduled on Saturdays, no later that 2:00 pm. Weddings may also be scheduled on Friday evenings. Visiting priests are welcome.
