Evangelization

• It is the proclamation of salvation in Jesus Christ (Kerygma) and the response of a person in faith, which are both works of the Spirit of God.
  It is the Church’s deepest identity. She exists in order to evangelize. All baptized Catholics are called to participate in this mission.
• It is a way of life. It is recognizing and sharing one’s experience of how Jesus transformed his/her life, and giving witness to the Gospel through words and deeds to help another person come to their own encounter with Jesus.
• Evangelization is how we entrust the faith to the next generation of faithful.

 “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Mt. 28:19-20

• It is a uniting purpose of all Church activity.  There are opportunities for evangelization in every ministry.

• I want to meet other parishioners and develop meaningful friendships through our faith.
• I am longing for a deeper relationship with Jesus.
• I want to be able to reach out to a family/friend/neighbor who is “lukewarm” in her faith or no longer practices and I don’t feel equipped to talk about it.
• I’m not Catholic and would like to explore the faith with others in a friendly, welcoming setting (see also RCIA)
• I want to pass on my faith to my children/grandchildren
