It is the proclamation of salvation in Jesus Christ (Kerygma) and the response of a person in faith, which are both works of the Spirit of God.
It is the Church’s deepest identity. She exists in order to evangelize. All baptized Catholics are called to participate in this mission.
It is a way of life. It is recognizing and sharing one’s experienceof how Jesus transformed his/her life, and giving witness to the Gospel through words and deeds to help another person come to their own encounter with Jesus.
Evangelization is how we entrust the faith to the next generation of faithful.
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Mt. 28:19-20
It is a uniting purpose of all Church activity. There are opportunities for evangelization in every ministry.
