Harpist Zora Evangeline is 21 years old and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Harp Performance at the Boyer College of Music at Temple University, where she studies with Elizabeth Hainen, Principal Harpist of The Philadelphia Orchestra. In addition to her frequent ensemble performances in school, Zora has performed with the New World Symphony, the Maryland Symphony, and the Allentown Symphony. Over the summer, Zora served as the harp fellow for the National Orchestral Institute and Festival, and the Brevard Music Festival College Orchestral Institute. Zora has received several awards and honors during her studies, including the 2024 American Harp Society Ruth Papalia Scholarship Award and the 2023 Brevard Concerto Competition, performing the Debussy Danses with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra in their “Soloists of Tomorrow” concert. Zora has also attended several harp festivals including the Colorado Harp Colony, the Maine Coast Harp Institute, the Curtis Summerfest Harp Colony, the Young Artist’s Harp Seminar, the MPulse summer harp institute, and the NYU Harp Intensive. She has performed in masterclasses with some of the most internationally recognized harpists including Elizabeth Hainen, Nancy Allen, Judy Loman, Irina Zingg, Mariko Anraku, Katherine Siochi, and Jaymee Haefner. Prior to college, Zora studied with Joan Holland, Harp Professor at the University of Michigan. In addition to her classical harp studies, Zora enjoys studying vocal jazz with Najwa Parkins and jazz harp with Brandee Younger.
