Praised by South Florida Classical Review for her “vivacious” playing, harpist Zora Evangeline is a dynamic and multi-faceted musician. She currently studies at Boyer College of Music at Temple University, where she studies with Elizabeth Hainen, Principal Harpist of The Philadelphia Orchestra. In addition to her studies, Zora has a vibrant freelance career. She frequently performs with professional orchestras across the nation including the New World Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Allentown Symphony, and Maryland Symphony, and has attended several prestigious music festivals including Orford Musique, the National Orchestral Institute + Festival, and the Brevard Music Center Orchestral Institute. While at Brevard, Zora she was the winner of the 2023 Brevard Concerto Competition, performing with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra in their “Soloists of Tomorrow” concert, and other awards include the 2024 American Harp Society Ruth Papalia Scholarship Award. Zora has also attended several harp festivals including the Lizotte Academia, Colorado Harp Colony, Maine Coast Harp Institute, Curtis Summerfest Harp Colony. She has performed in masterclasses with some of the most internationally recognized harpists including Elizabeth Hainen, Nancy Allen, Judy Loman, Irina Zingg, Mariko Anraku, Katherine Siochi, and Jaymee Haefner. Prior to college, Zora studied with Joan Holland, Harp Professor at the University of Michigan. In addition to her classical harp studies, Zora enjoys studying vocal jazz with Najwa Parkins and jazz harp with Brandee Younger.
