Arlet Tabares is a Cuban French horn player pursuing her DMA at Temple University. She has performed with the San Antonio Orchestra, Symphony in C, the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador and the Orquesta del Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana.
She is a founding member of Havana Horns and has appeared on several recordings, including Mozart y Mambo with Sarah Willis (Alpha Classics 2020) and the Cubadisco Award-winning Libre de Pecado by Beatriz Márquez (Colibrí 2018). Upcoming releases include Listen to the Earth by James Grant with the Temple Chamber Orchestra and choirs.
She has also performed with the Lenin Palacios Jazz Band, Joaquín Betancourt’s Joven Jazz Band, and has appeared at international festivals and conferences such as Jazz Plaza, the Leo Brouwer Festival, the Havana Contemporary Music Festival, the Mozart Festival in Havana and Quito Fest. She was a fellow at the Lyceum Mozartiano de La Havana 2016-2020, Atlanta Horn Festival in 2023 and 2024, Varna Festival in 2024, Colorado College Summer Festival 2025 and Imani Winds Chamber Festival 2025.
As an educator, she has been a Teaching Assistant and Artist Resident at Temple University and Georgia State University, where she earned a Master’s degree. She has also mentored students at Ztunes Music, Play on Philly, the Atlanta Music Project, the Riobamba Municipal Orchestra and the Ecuadorian National Youth Orchestra.Besides playing, she enjoys quality time with her husband and family, caring for her plants, reading and sharing coffee with friends.
